We here at the Outerhaven want you to know us not only for our passions surrounding gaming, tech, television, movies, anime, manga, etc. Every week we’re going to deliver to you a list of videos we have been checking out while cyberloafing the internet. It gives you a chance to see another side to us, one that isn’t focused on covering the latest news or reviews. While this list will be largely safe for work, we must warn against things that may incite any phobias that you may have. Enjoy!
Josh’s Pick:
I’m, once again, picking a Gigguk video for my weekly highlight. This time, he perfectly captures how anime has evolved over the years along with its community. It also offers some insight into how the amount of anime has increased and how the community more easily forgets shows that come out due to the sheer abundance of shows to choose from. It’s a pretty good insight into how anime adapted to the modern era for better or for worse.
Karl’s Pick:
If you love impressions, then this is the video for you. Brian Hull is an AMAZING vocal impressionist who can do thousands of different characters from not only Disney, but just about any brand on the planet. In this video, you’ll see what happens when someone who can do prefect impressions of characters interacts with the characters at Disney World.
Will’s Pick:
I’ve seen some cheese in my life, but this the cake. Yes I’m 2 years late for this one. Stars Wars Kinect is a mixed game to say the least. With bad controls and poor demos to utilize the Kinect, it just would only appeal to the casuals. But this alternative parody song to Jason Derulo’s Ridin’ Solo shows that even a bad game has its moments. I’m Han Solo is just so cheesy and hilarious that I actually enjoyed it. This song is just so cheery and bright, I can’t help that my mood got better when listening to it. I actually played this song at work and it really helps you get through the day. So if you like some cheesey brightness, play this at work for yourself.
Liz’s Pick:
This is possibly one of my favorite fights. It isn’t often you find an aggressive woman fighter. Christy Martin’s a knockout queen on a level unsurpassed. Anyone wanting to study Mike Tyson techniques would do themselves well to study Christy who was trained briefly by Tyson.
That’s all for week’s roundup. Tune back in next week to see what we are sharing next!
