The extraordinary Gun-Fu franchise has released a video reminding us that we’ll be seeing John Wick very soon.
This week, fans were treated with a simple, yet very effective, video on the film’s official Twitter account. The video shows a blurred John Wick slowly coming into focus in the rain, while text on the screen informs viewers that He’ll, “Be seeing you…in one year.”

The video is referring to the release date for John Wick: Chapter 3, which is May 17, 2019. Exactly one year from now.
Though there is not much info about the upcoming third film in the franchise, some sources have confirmed a synopsis:
“John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.”
The movie will be distributed by Lionsgate and will star Keanu Reeves as the titular character. Chad Stahelski, who directed the first two films in the franchise, will return to direct Chapter 3. Derek Kolstad, who penned the scripts for the first two films, will return to write the script for the third movie. Ian McShane will likely return, along with Ruby Rose, Common, and Laurence Fishburne.
As a fan of the first two installments, the countdown has me hyped. Hopefully an actual trailer for the film will not be too far off.
