You all need to start practicing
For those who are heading out to EVO 2018 to compete in the Dragon Ball FighterZ tourney, listen up. It seems that the producer of the game, Tomoko Hiroki, will be also competing in the tournament.
She’s not taking this lightly. She’s already thrown down the challenge. In the video above, she tells those who are competing to “Practice a lot! Because I will enter the tournament.”
Pretty sure this is a first, at least for EVO it is. Now, this actually presents a couple of interesting scenarios. Being the producer of Dragon Ball FighterZ, I’d imagine that she has a better than average understanding of the game. Hell, who am I kidding, she probably has a ton of DBFZ tech that the world hasn’t seen yet. I don’t know if I’d want to match up against her.
Then on the flipside, who’s going to be the poor soul that ends up matching up against her and then beating her? You got to wonder what the crowd, no, the community is going to think about that. Either way, it’s pretty interesting to see Hiroki entering the fray.
EVO 2018 is also the first time that Dragon Ball FighterZ enters the event. And we’re sure that it won’t be the last. Sadly, this also marks the first time that a Marvel vs. Capcom title won’t be on the main stage. Despite Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite still putting up good numbers and having a heavy following, it will miss the main stage. I guess there was only room for one over-the-top fighting title, and that honor went to Dragon Ball FighterZ.
EVO 2018 takes places at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, August 3-5, 2018. Be sure to check out our review of Dragon Ball FighterZ, here.
