Once upon a time, there was a thing called “Nintendo Club”, and the things that happened in this club were simple. You would buy Nintendo games, then redeem codes online to get points, and those points could be used to get special Nintendo items, or even Nintendo games. But, sadly, the club was closed down, and My Nintendo was put in its place. From the very start though, fans noted that it wasn’t the same.
How so? Well, while it was somewhat easy to earn coins in My Nintendo, the stuff you could spend them on honestly wasn’t worth it to most. What’s more, you couldn’t buy games with your coins. Now though, Nintendo has revealed that this will change in March.
A #MyNintendo update in early March will let you redeem Gold Points for select digital games and DLC for #NintendoSwitch!https://t.co/L6lqeDuTUa pic.twitter.com/76PUd7nPOi

Now, yes, they did say the words “select digital games and DLC”, which likely means it won’t be “Day One” titles a part of that list. But, for those who don’t have certain games that were released last year, this may be your chance to get it depending on the coins you have.
Sadly, it doesn’t look like Platinum Coins will be of use here. But hey, one step at a time, right?
