Well, excuse me, Princess
Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition is headed to the Nintendo Switch this Spring 2018 in North America. This really shouldn’t be a surprise as Nintendo did name-drop the game, earlier this year.
The game will include will play at 1080p while docked, and will let you play with two people on just one Switch. No word on the framerate just yet. For comparison, the Wii U version ran at 720p, with an unlocked framerate. It typically hovered at 30fps. Here’s to hoping that this version is a solid 30fps or beyond. Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force will once again be working on the enhanced title.
According to Nintendo, this version will include everything from the Wii U and 3DS versions. Which is a relief, as both versions had their own exclusive unlockable content. All the maps, 29 playable characters and all of the previous DLC will be available in one package.
As an added bonus, the game will also feature new outfits for Link and Zelda, based on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There’s also amiibo support. Meaning we’ll likely see some new amiibos for the title.
I skipped out of the original outing, but now I know I’m picking it up this time.
Look for Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition for the Nintendo Switch, this Spring 2018 in North America. Japan will see it a bit earlier, on March 22, 2018. While you’re waiting, be sure to check out our original review of the game.
