Yuusuke Murata, the artist that is adapting ONE’s One Punch Man manga, will be taking the 1985 classic movie Back to the Future and adapting it into a manga. The announcement was made at the Ready Player One film event in Tokyo on Thursday. Bob Gale, the original screenwriter of the film, will be overseeing the manga project. It was also announced that there will be story content in the manga that was not in the Back to the Future films.
The manga will be serialized digitally on Kono Manga ga Sugoi. While there is no information about when the manga will debut, Murata stated that he plans to publish the first tankoban by April 20.
Back to the Future‘s story is described as follows:
In this 1980s sci-fi classic, small-town California teen Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) is thrown back into the ’50s when an experiment by his eccentric scientist friend Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) goes awry. Traveling through time in a modified DeLorean car, Marty encounters young versions of his parents (Crispin Glover, Lea Thompson), and must make sure that they fall in love or he’ll cease to exist. Even more dauntingly, Marty has to return to his own time and save the life of Doc Brown.
