If you thought that retro gaming was just a just a fad, we’ll your wrong. But you know who else was wrong? That would be our friends at Nintendo, who didn’t think that neither their NES Classic and Super NES Classics weren’t going to be in demand. In fact, Nintendo is touting that the Super NES Classic managed to surpass over four million dollars in sales.
This includes the initial two million in sales from last Oct. 2017. Plus an additional two million more sales since then. Talk about this thing just flying off the shelves, right?
I’d imagine this will end up being a bit higher, as it’s still pretty hard to find these guys in stores. Thankfully, Nintendo increased their production of the unit and we’re a bit more of the SNES Classic in the wild.
But that’s not all, as Nintendo has also mentioned that their first retro console, the NES Classic is making a come back. Due to super popular demand, the NES Classic will be making a return this Summer 2018. Originally the system was supposed to be a limited run deal, never to return. I suppose that’s what happens when you make a product that everyone in the world wants.
Who said retro gaming was a fad?
