They grow up so fast, especially in Hollywood. So before Millie Bobby Brown grows into a kick-ass woman, studios are looking to get her to play some badass teenagers. Case in point, Brown has been cast as the lead in a new literary adaptation about Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister.
The film will be based on the first of the Nancy Springer’s Enola Holmes Mysteries novels, The Case of the Missing Marquess. The series follows Enola Holmes, the much younger sister of the famous sister Sherlock Holmes, who also has the knack for detective work and goes off on her own to solve mysteries. Brown would play Enola, but no other cast has been announced at the time of writing. Many think that if the first film does well, it could branch out into its own franchise. The source material is certainly prestigious enough; the first book and the fifth book were nominated for Edgar Awards. Alex Garcia and Ali Mendes will oversee the film for the studio, Legendary.
Millie Bobby Brown will also be in the Godzilla reboot sequel, Godzilla: King of Monsters, that is currently in post-production. It’s great to see such a talented budding actress getting work, but one can only hope that it won’t cause any delays for Stranger Things season 3.
