Nintendo Switch Games Attach Rates Revealed For US

By Todd BlackJanuary 4, 2018
Super Mario Odyssey Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch continues to sell well, and with each new milestone record comes new love for the system. But, as gamers will happily note, a console is only as good as the games that accompany it. Thankfully, the Switch had that in spades too. In fact, many consider the Switch’s 1st year lineup to be one of the greatest gaming lineups in the history of video gaming.

With certain information being released today about the Nintendo Switch, Wall Street Journalist Takashi Mochizuki made a tweet about how the games stacked up with the Switch sales in the US.

In the U.S:

-over 60% Nintendo Switch owners have Super Mario Odyssey,
-over 55% own The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
-over 50% own Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
-over 20% own Splatoon 2 https://t.co/ltDvwe1loY

— Takashi Mochizuki (@mochi_wsj) January 4, 2018

So, to break that down a little, in the US alone, Super Mario Odyssey has around 2.88 million copies sold. Breath of the Wild has around 2.64 million copies sold. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has 2.4 million sold, and Splatoon two has 960,000 copies sold.

Those are some impressive numbers, and they’ll no doubt go up as the months go on. For those thinking that Splatoon 2’s numbers are a bit low, that’s understandable. But do take into consideration that in Japan, Splatoon 2 has sold between 1-1.5 million. And that’s not even counting the UK sales among others.

Either way though, Nintendo killed it in both the US and the rest of the world, and 2018 could be shaping up to be the same.
