With the release of The Champions Ballad for Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, many have wondered if this would be the true end of the game. We already know that they’re working on the next Zelda title, but that doesn’t mean that more DLC couldn’t come while they’re working out ideas for it. But, we can now say for certain that The Champions Ballad will indeed be the last DLC for the game.
This comes from Eiji Aonuma himself, who chatted with Famitsu and noted “Breath of the Wild is finished, and there won’t be any new content.”
While sad, it is understandable. After all, this was the first Zelda game to ever have DLC, so it may have been that they didn’t have too many ideas on what to bring to it. The Master Trials brought a new difficulty mode, the Trial of the Sword dungeon, new armor, and other new features to help make the game easier. The Champions Ballad, on the other hand, brought forth more story in certain aspects as well as new shrines and a new dungeon.
The only question now is how long will it be until we hear about the next Zelda game. Will it be a true sequel, or will it be something new and special? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
