It wouldn’t be Halloween without some extra-spooky announcements, and Ash vs. The Evil Dead has you covered. Today, STARZ released the teaser trailer for the show’s third season, which not only continues the excellent deadite-slaying adventures of the past two seasons but reunites Ash with his secret daughter.
That’s right, after returning to Elk Grove a hero, Ash meets up with the daughter he apparently never knew he had. However, that’s not all he has to worry about — Ruby is back, and Pablo looks like he might still be possessed, and Kelly…well, Kelly’s still a total badass. Also let us not discount the very weird, very badly CGIed deadeye baby, which is sure to be a hoot.
If that description doesn’t sate you, here’s the official Season 3 synopsis from the bigwigs at STARZ:
Ash vs Evil Dead Season 3 finds Ash’s status in Elk Grove, Michigan has changed from murderous urban legend to humanity-saving hometown hero. When Kelly witnesses a televised massacre with Ruby’s fingerprints all over it, she returns with a new friend to warn Ash and Pablo that evil isn’t done with them yet. Blood is thicker than water in the battle of good vs Evil Dead!
It’s going to be interesting to see how the show picks up after the ending with big bad Baal, and all the weird time-jumping issues. For my money, I think we’re going to see Ruby take the main antagonist slot again, but hopefully they only build her up instead of shortchanging her. It will be interesting to see how Ash reacts to being a father, and if this womanizing demon killer is up to the task of taking on a teenaged girl. It seems like this season will be yet another groovy one, even with it’s slightly different tone.
Ash vs. The Evil Dead Season 3 premieres on STARZ on February 25, 2018.
