Here’s a funny story – Clinton and I made our way over to the Code Vein demo stations at New York Comic Con 2017. Once we made it there, I recognized a familiar face, Bandai Namco. So we get to talking about Code Vein and I mentioned how it looks like God Eater. He goes on to mention that’s because the God Eater team is working on the game. Then goes on to mention the announcement of God Eater 3, which made me pause. God Eater 3, that’s a thing I asked? Yep, sure enough, it was announced. But due to the crappy signal in the venue, I didn’t get the email.
Cool story, huh?
So yes, we have official confirmation of God Eater 3. We also have a bit of information regarding the game. It seems that after the events of God Eater 2, that things haven’t gotten better. Reports of new Aragamis have been coming in and it seems they’re still intent on messing up the world. Once again the God Eaters need to take them down, however, things are different. How much different has yet been revealed.
We don’t have an exact idea on what platforms it’s coming for either. The presser we received said it’s coming to home consoles. That could be the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch. Bandai Namco isn’t saying where it’s going just yet. However, if you look a the keywords in the trailer that was posted on YouTube, it lists the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Now before anyone forgets, God Eater 2 was also released on the PC. We have not seen the title on the Xbox One, so if it hits then this would be the first. There also was no keyword for the PS Vita – yet another ticket that is forgoing the system?
Don’t hold your breath waiting for a release date, as there was none announced. Someone who overheard the conversation at NYCC 2017, joked and asked “so we’ll see it in two years?”. To which the rep was pretty quiet. Regardless of when we’ll see it, it’s nice to know it’s coming.
We don’t even have any screenshots as of yet.
