Wondering when the first raid for Bungie’s upcoming Destiny 2 will go live? Well, wonder no more as Bungie has announced that the first raid will open one week after the game’s release. On September 13th, 2017, at 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT, both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers will be able to jump into the fray. Well, as long as they have the gear to do so.
As a former World of Warcraft player (I’ve been clean for nearly a year), it’s hard to understand how Bungie expects gamers to get the gear to hit up a raid. One week after launch? I’m going to go out on a limb here and state that the only people that may be ready to go will be the hardcore crowd. You know, the ones that stay up all hours of the day, looking for those sweet loot drops.
As far as the raid goes, Bungie isn’t talking about it. We don’t know anything about it and that’s probably for the best. Nothing excited me more during my time with WoW than going into a new instance without knowing what’s going on. Though, with PAX West starting up this weekend, we will more than likely hear something about this upcoming raid.
But where does this leave the PC gaming crowd? Destiny 2 for the PC doesn’t release until October 24th, 2017, leaving those who want to experience the game in all its graphical glory, will be out of luck it seems. And it’s going to be really hard to resist checking out all the content that will be released once the console version is released. You’re talking about walkthroughs, various streams and of course, this new raid. While I’ve already resided to picking up the PC version, I wouldn’t blame anyone else who’s thinking about making the jump to the console version.
Of course, this would be moot if there was some way to do a one-time transfer of your character to the PC version. But alas, this simply isn’t possible and if it is, Bungie has been just on that topic.
Destiny 2 releases for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6th. That’s less than one week away now. PC gamers will have to wait until October 24th and yes I know, that wait is killing you. I’m right alongside you! At least I’ll have my Cadye-6 and Ghost figures here on my desk to keep me company.
Sorry PC Gamers, I know this isn’t what you wanted to hear right now!
