With July coming to a close, Sony has just announced the free PS Plus games for subscribers in the month of August. It seems that Sony is starting a trend by offering AAA titles – PS Plus subscribers can get Until Dawn until the end of July, and Just Cause 3 during August. There’s still a mix of indie titles in August’s lineup, but it’s nice to see that Sony has listened to criticism on the lack of AAA offerings.
Here’s the full lineup:
- Just Cause 3 (PS4)
- Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry (PS4)
- Super Motherload (PS3)
- Snakeball (PS3)
- Downwell (PS Vita, Crossbuy with PS4)
- Level 22 (PS Vita)
Just Cause 3 follows Rico Rodriguez in his quest to liberate his homeland from a dictatorship, but it’s really more about blowing stuff up. Just Cause 3 gives you plenty of tools for action and destruction in its open world. PlayStation 4 players will also get Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry – a standalone adventure which takes place during the events of Black Flag.
You can still get July’s PS Plus games which also had a pretty strong lineup, including the fantastic Until Dawn as well as Telltale’s Game of Thrones. Let’s hope Sony keeps giving PS Plus subscribers a solid list of games like they have been this summer.
