From the getgo, we knew that the Nintendo Switch was going to be a hit. The commercial started the whole thing with a spark, then the presentation in January turn it into a flame, and then since launch the system has been blazing hot. Not just because of the console itself, but the numerous games that have come out since. Now, Nintendo has released an earnings report that states that the console has sold about 4.7 million units so far.
That’s an impressive number for sure, and July isn’t even over yet. Plus, the Nintendo Switch has has plenty of shortages, so imagine if the console had been able to be stocked regularly.
What’s also impressive though is the sales numbers of its games. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, is nearing 4 million sold, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is at 3.5 million sold, and ARMS has become a mjor hit by selling over 1 million units in its first few weeks! And lest we forget, Splatoon 2 has just released, and early numbers show that’ll be a million seller too.
All this good fortune has boosted Nintendo’s earnings, and if they’re able to help the Nintendo Switch get produced even faster, these sales surely won’t stop.
