The talk over Nintendo Switch 2 hasn’t died down, and with its latest financial briefing, Nintendo has shown even more than people are ready for the new console. The question, of course, is when we’ll get it and how many people will be able to get it at launch. We’re not solely talking about the units Nintendo will have at launch, but also those who will buy a unit and then sell it back at a much higher price. Scalpers, in other words.
Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa spoke with the press, as noted by Nikkei, and made the following statement about potential scalpers:
“We will take all possible measures based on the experience we have accumulated to date (regarding scalpers and the like). We are making preparations.”
Obviously, only time will tell if The Big N is able to keep scalpers away. There have been unique suggestions about how to get around that, but it’s up to the company itself to work things out. Regardless, the countdown continues towards the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct on April 2nd.
