The Story
The big cliffhanger from the previous volume was Arisa getting her memories back and overcoming her amnesia once and for all. Because of this, most of the volume focuses on Arisa remembering everything in the form of flashbacks, including how she met Mari, how they started dating, when they moved in together, their first intimate moments, and so much more. Without too many spoilers, I will say one of the things that brought them together was cockroaches… and yes, it was pretty hilarious.
At the end of the volume, we are taken back to the present via a flash forward. The wedding that they had been planning happens and they officially get married! The volume ends on a “Happily Ever After” moment except it’s not over just yet. We will get to see their newlywed life to wrap up this series in the sixth and final volume!
Characters
Okay… Arisa is a nutjob… plain and simple. If you thought she was crazy with amnesia, wait until you see her in the flashbacks. She’s about ten times more forward with Mari in her past. It’s still cute, though. She’s just so infatuated with Mari that where she had to give Arisa her contact info just so she would stop coming in and making a scene at work. Plus, it seems she always orders the small fries and nothing else whenever she visits. Seems like she just picks out the cheapest item as an excuse to see Mari!
Then, of course, there was the time Arisa visited Mari before moving in and she sounded like a stalker, saying stuff like “Well, I’m already inside your house,” and things of that nature. When she finally moves in, it’s nothing but sex on her mind, hoping and wishing that Mari would take her, silently daydreaming about allowing Mari to do anything and everything to her. I get that she’s in love with Mari but this is borderline psychotic.
Mari, on the other hand, is definitely the submissive type. Somehow, she doesn’t view this odd behavior as off-putting (well, she does at first but I guess she warms up to it over time) but what really sealed the deal was when there were cockroaches in her bedroom and Arisa offered to take care of them for her. Yes, that is what I hinted at earlier… she put her trust in Arisa over a bunch of cockroaches… I mean… if it works, right?
We also learn a few things about Mari as well… like how she doesn’t mind giving Arisa breast massages and that she’s quite the lightweight when it comes to drinking. Ah, sweet submissive Mari…
Final Thoughts
The flashbacks I think were great. Seeing how they ended up together and growing together was a great setup for their wedding. The fact that Arisa regained her memories made the wedding even more special; however, the big problem was that the flashbacks took up so much time that they had to do a fast-forward to the wedding and when they did, it was over! I was hoping that we would get a little more time with it considering how it was the major focus of the previous volume.
I’m not sure how big the sixth and final volume will be; however, it will give us a glimpse at their newlywed life. Aside from possibly seeing them go on a honeymoon, I’m not sure what it can offer outside of the normal banter we’ve been given so far. I guess we will have to wait and see how things truly wrap up.
