As we’ve covered on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, the hype for the Nintendo Switch 2 continues to build. We’re now less than two months away from the Nintendo Direct, which will reveal the main software titles that gamers can look forward to in year one and beyond. As we wait for that event, teases from 3rd-party developers will trickle in to let us know if they’re “on board” with the new system or not. The newest crew to make a statement about it? Take-Two Interactive.
The company’s CEO was doing a breakdown of the company’s financial report when he made the following statement about the system:
“We’ve had a longstanding relationship with Nintendo and we’ve supported the platform when it made sense for the individual release. There was a time when Nintendo platforms were really geared at younger audiences and that was reflected in our release schedule. Now with today Switch and potentially Switch 2, the Switch device can support any audience. As you may have noticed, Civilization 7 is now available on Switch. While we have nothing specific to report, we actually would fully expect to support Switch.”
Vague? Sure. However, certain reports claim that Nintendo doesn’t want companies like Take-Two Interactive to state whether they’ll be on Nintendo Switch 2 or not. That way, the reveals speak for themselves. Given the popularity of the Switch and the hype behind the Switch 2, it’d be smart for Take-Two to put at least some of its games on the new system around launch. Only time will tell if that happens, though.
