WWE is heading on the road to WrestleMania, which means only one thing: It’s time for 2K Games to bring out another yearly update to the WWE franchise. This year, the franchise has announced and teased many new features and modes that will be coming to WWE 2K25, most of which will focus on Roman Reigns.
You can watch the WWE 2K25 announcement trailer, featuring Roman Reigns, below.
As you can see from the trailer, there is a big focus on Roman Reigns and The Bloodline, the WWE’s longest-running storyline over the past 5 years. So if you have been bored of seeing The Bloodline all over the place on WWE TV (Now on Netflix), then this is going to be “so much fun” for you to go through all over again.
While there has been no official announcement that The Bloodline, or at least the Anoaʻi family, are going to be the focus of a showcase mode, we do know that (as you can see in the screenshot above) that members of the Anoaʻi family are going to have a place in WWE 2K25 as either playable characters, or the showcase mode. We do know that the showcase mode is going to focus on the rise of Roman Reigns as the longest-reigning WWE Champion in history, with maybe a chance to rewrite some of that history as Roman lost the championship to Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania 41 before losing the Ula’fala and his spot as “head of the table”.
One thing that can be confirmed is that WWE 2K25 is going to feature “The Island of Relevancy”, a mode that is going to see an open environment similar to The City from NBA 2K25.
For those of you who do not know what The City is, we shall explain. The City is where people can go online in an open-world environment and level up a character by challenging other players to a game, or in this case a match. There has been some issue with The City in NBA 2K25 as it pushes a LOT of micro-transactions for leveling up your character quickly through buying Virtual Currency, as well as getting items to create or modify your character. Is this the end of the amazing WWE character creator system that fans have come to know and love? Who knows at this time?
This could also be a way to stop people modding the game files to find official outfits for DLC or MyFaction content and adding them, for free, to the WWE online community downloads much like known WWE Community Creator WhatsTheStatus got banned (for a few weeks) during WWE 2K24.
The WWE Games account on X has been teasing some things to do with WWE 2K25 leading up to today’s announcement. The trailer has confirmed that:
However, there are still 2 of those teases that have yet to be officially confirmed:

The Smackdown Hotel website also lists other wrestlers that are possibly on the roster, but this site has also taken unconfirmed leaks into account, but the list does look interesting if they are all available on the roster at launch.
Speaking of editions of WWE 2K25, 2K Games has announced that there will be 3 versions of the game available at launch: The standard edition, a Deadman Edition, and a Bloodline Edition. As of the time of writing, there is no information about the differences between the 3 editions, but to hazard a guess, the Deadman Edition that features The Undertaker on the cover would include a few different versions of The Undertaker throughout the years. The Bloodline Edition would be the one that might include members of the Anoaʻi family in a special pack, which would be Umaga, Rikishi, and the Wild Samoans.
As mentioned before, there is a preorder incentive for those who want to slap down money to secure their copy of the game. This time around you will get The Wyatt Sicks, the group that is based around Uncle Howdy, aka Bray Wyatt’s brother known as Bo Dallas.
Lastly, the game has also been given a release date of March 14, 2025. WWE 2K25 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC… PlayStation 4 is unconfirmed at this time.
