As we continue to mention on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, we as gamers need to be mindful of the leaks/rumors/reports that have been coming out about the Nintendo Switch 2. Some of these reveals have just been through “reliable sources,” and others have taken place at events like CES 2025, where companies like Genki claimed that the accessories they were showing off were based on official mockups of the Switch 2. However, as predicted, The Big N wasn’t happy about this and clapped back hard.
Nintendo itself made a statement to CNET stating that “the gaming hardware that Genki presented as Nintendo hardware at CES is unofficial and was not provided to the company by us.”
That’s bad enough, but it gets even worse. GameSpark went on the hunt for more information and found out that the “mockups” that Genki used at CES 2025 were actually based on leaked information! So, yeah, that wasn’t smart of them on multiple fronts.
Thus, once again, until the publisher properly reveals the Nintendo Switch 2, you shouldn’t believe everything you see on the internet.
