During the Xbox Developer Direct, Xbox and Koei Tecmo revealed that a remake of Ninja Gaiden 2, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black has been developed for the Xbox and PC, and the game is available as of today. Ninja Gaiden 2 Black has been developed in Unreal Engine 5 and will have new content surrounding Ryu Hayabasa, but we aren’t just how much will be included. Players will also be able to play with Rachel, Ayane, and Momiji, in addition to Ryu.
Fans of the original Ninja Gaiden games that were released for the Xbox 360 will remember that Keoi Tecmo worked on a remake of the original Ninja Gaiden title, called Ninja Gaiden Black, which was a reworked version of the game. Upgraded visuals, new content, and a was eventually released for the PlayStation 3 as well.
This newly upgraded version of Ninja Gaiden will be a nice jumping-in point for anyone who missed out on the original Ninja Gaiden games and wants to play them now. And it gives you something to watch while we wait for Ninja Gaiden 4.
Ninja Gaiden 2 Black will be available for Xbox, PC, and Xbox Game Pass as of January 23, 2025.
