While Mai Shiranui was announced as part of the Street Fighter 6 Season 2 DLC update, Capcom has been pretty tight-lipped about her, and that’s been a subject of contention for fans of the iconic fighting game character. We’ve seen her stage, and we’ve heard some of her character theme music, however, Mai was supposed to be released in the Winter of 2025. So, where’s Mai?
Well, get ready—Capcom will be releasing Mai Shiranui’s gameplay trailer on January 13, 2025, at 3 PM PT / 6 PM ET on the Street Fighter YouTube channel.
You can check out the trailer here once it’s available.
Mai Shiranui is. if you ask me, perhaps the most eagerly anticipated character for many. While M. Bison and Terry Bogard may have brought the boys and girls to the yard, it’s Mai that everyone has their eyes on. Just in Street Fighter, Mai Shiranui has been insanely popular in the Fatal Fury and King of Fighters series, Samurai Shodown, as well as several non-SNK fighting titles such as Dead or Alive 5 and 6, Capcom vs. SNK, Capcom vs. SNK 2, and I haven’t even mentioned that non-fighting games.
Let’s not forget that she’ll also make her appearance in SNK’s Fatal Fury: City of Wolves later this year as well. She’s a busy woman, that’s for sure.
Capcom seems to be happy about Mai Shiranui’s appearance in SF6 as well and has given her a new look just ahead of her in-game reveal.
Hopefully, once Capcom reveals Mai Shiranui’s Street Fighter 6 gameplay trailer, she’ll be available to play with soon afterward.
