2025 has arrived and seven full days into the year, Microsoft announced the first wave of Xbox Game Pass titles for the month of January. Similar to this period of gaming in general, the lineup isn’t necessarily the strongest, but at least it offers a few games worth mentioning.
First up is the latest in EA’s take on mixed martial arts with EA Sports UFC 5 coming via EA Play to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. By all accounts this is the series best outing to date according to its 79 on Opencritic. It certainly takes things up a notch in terms of both graphics and gameplay. Especially when you can gather around with friends and take turns virtually pummeling each other. Whether you are a casual or hardcore MMA fan that’s been wanting to play with your favorite fighters, you can try it on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on January 14 on Cloud or Xbox Series X/s.
Available on the same day for PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers is another one of Blizzard’s classic titles in the original Diablo. The game first released in January 1997 and considering its age, it is playable on pretty much any PC in existence. Although it is missing many of the enhancements seen in future Diablo titles, for those that wish to see where it all started for the legendary franchise, you can now do so beginning on January 14.
