Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been making headlines this week—and for good reason. Following some very positive previews, the game is now available for pre-order, including the highly sought-after Collector’s Edition. So, if your pre-order was canceled after the original delay, now is the perfect time to place your order again.
The Standard Edition of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is priced at $69.99 and is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, including Macs via the Mac App Store. The Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at $89.99 and is also available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC/Mac. Lastly, the Collector’s Edition is available for $229.99 on the same platforms, offering a premium package for dedicated fans.
The Digital Deluxe and Collector’s Editions of the game, both offering exclusive content, are now available for pre-order:
- Digital Deluxe Edition: Includes the base game, the “Sekiryu Dual Pack” (featuring exclusive gear and weapons for Naoe and Yasuke), the “Sekiryu Hideout Pack” (containing hideout cosmetics), and Mastery Points.
- Collector’s Edition: Includes everything in the Digital Deluxe Edition (base game, “Sekiryu Dual Pack”, “Sekiryu Hideout Pack”, and Mastery Points), along with physical collectibles. These include a Steelbook, a world map, a Naoe & Yasuke figurine, a life-sized Katana Tsuba (Naoe’s), a Wall Creed Scroll, a 76-page collector’s artbook, and two sumi-e lithographs.
Players who pre-order any edition of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will also gain free access to the “Claws of Awaji” expansion, launching later in 2025. This expansion introduces a brand-new open-world region, offering over 10 hours of additional content, along with new skills, gear, abilities, and a powerful new weapon for Naoe—the Bō.
In this thrilling new adventure, players will travel to the mysterious island of Awaji, where Naoe and Yasuke will face relentless pursuit by the Sanzoku Ippa, a dangerous new faction threatening the region. Navigating traps and ambushes set by these formidable foes will create an intense, high-stakes experience for players. You can find more details about the “Claws of Awaji” expansion [here].
If you’re planning to play the game on PC, make sure to check your system’s specifications to ensure it can handle the game at your desired settings. Early impressions suggest that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will push even the most powerful systems to their limits. However, those fortunate enough to get their hands on an upcoming Nvidia 50-series GPU should be in good shape, based on early reviews of these cutting-edge cards.
For those hesitant about spending the full $69.99 on Assassin’s Creed Shadows at launch, it’s worth noting that the game is accessible through a Ubisoft+ subscription on PC or Xbox for $17.99 per month.
Ubisoft+ offers access to the most premium edition of all their games on day one, meaning you’ll also gain access to all the Deluxe Edition content. I’ve used the service in the past and found it to be good value—especially during years when Ubisoft released multiple games. If you typically purchase one Premium Edition or even two Standard Editions of Ubisoft games per year, the subscription is likely worth considering. Just keep in mind that on PC, Ubisoft+ only works through Ubisoft Connect.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC on March 20th, 2025.
