ZUTOMAYO has released a music video for “TAIDADA,” the ending theme for the TV anime DAN DA DAN. The anime’s popular ending sequence highlights the charm of Turbo Granny, a maneki-neko (beckoning cat) character featured in the manga’s volume extras.
The newly released “TAIDADA” music video is a collaborative work that pays homage to this ending sequence. By reusing some of the original visuals, it presents an original occult-themed story featuring Turbo Granny alongside ZUTOMAYO’s official characters: Uniguri-kun, shoga_st, and Nira-chan.
The music video was directed by goru, known for his work on key animation for DAN DA DAN and several ZUTOMAYO music videos, including “Ham,” “Fuhou Shinnyuu,” and “Blues in the Closet.” The scene of Turbo Granny and Uniguri-kun running side by side during the chorus makes this a rare official video that breaks the boundaries between anime and music artist characters.
