It’s been a weird year for Spider-Man Beyond The Spider-Verse. If you recall, the movie was actually supposed to arrive in 2024. Then, it got pushed back (presumably) to 2025, which made fans sad, but there was serious backlash over working conditions with the second animated movie. Thus, people were fine with the delay if it meant people weren’t being abused behind the scenes. However, as we reported on Sunday things aren’t going as planned, and Sony doesn’t intend to release the film in 2025 as previously thought. Weirdly enough, the odd pieces of news keep piling up.
We say that because the official handle for the animated films posted on Twitter revealing the official directors for Spider-Man Beyond The Spider-Verse.
News from the #SpiderVerse. Please join us in welcoming back your friendly neighborhood filmmakers, Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson, who will serve as the directing team behind Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. pic.twitter.com/aXzMGEZPOR

As one can imagine, fans are pretty confused by this. Again, the movie was supposed to come out this year or early in 2025, and now, it’s not only being delayed another year, but we’re JUST finding out about the people directing it? That doesn’t add up, and many are wondering if more pieces of news like this will be coming in the new year.
