Much like Xbox did recently, the data spies at PlayStation have been busy getting all your information together to show you in nice little images, displaying how much you love (or hate) playing your PlayStation consoles in 2024 with its PlayStation Wrap-up. If you’re curious about what is in store for you when you do this wrap-up yourself, let’s use mine again, as an example.
The first screen that you will be met with once you log in via your PlayStation account gives you an overview of a few facts that will be shown again throughout this presentation. As you can see here, I played 9 PS5 games and 12 PS4 games for a total of 21 games this year. The little pop-up at the bottom of the screen shows I’ve played 160 games since PlayStation started tracking my games… And yes, the first game I played in 2024 was Resident Evil 2 remake. Get ready to see that game a lot in this wrap-up.
Next up is the Top 5 games played in 2024… And see, I play more than Resident Evil 2 remake on my PlayStation 5. With 10 hours in the game, Batman Arkham City is my top game this year, not that you can tell that with the number 3 spot being taken up by Batman: Return to Arkham as well, but given the timeframe, it’d be Batman: Arkham Asylum as I know I can beat that game under 3 hours.
It’s interesting to see that Batman and Resident Evil would be considered Adventure games, but seeing as the other top games in my list are fighting games, this title seems right given what I played in 2024. Your experience and title may vary depending on what your Top 5 games of 2024 are.
The next section is a long one. You are greeted with a scrolling list of your most played game for each month of the year. If you didn’t play anything, like I did in January, then there will be no game listed. Here are the many mentions of the Resident Evil 2 remake that I mentioned earlier.
More Resident Evil 2 remake in March…
Some retro arcade action dominated March… Then things went quiet for May and June…
July was the time of my back going out and landing me in hospital. Now bed-bound, I started gaming in the bedroom with something that I was familiar with that wouldn’t stress me out… Good old Resident Evil Village.
Not quite back into reviewing shape, I spent more time gaming during my recovery. This is where the Batman marathon began with me going through both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.
I was back into reviewing at this stage, but I had to take the time to play the excellent Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics release. I spent a little bit of time getting back into the swing of things before heading online and getting my ass kicked… Though I didn’t encounter The Wazzler.
October brought around the game that everyone has been playing since its release: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Much like everyone else, I was caught up in the amazing Episode mode, looking for all those special “What If’ lines and seeing what the results would be.
I spent November on the PC for the most part, reviewing games for this website. But in the sort time I did spend with the PlayStation 5, I decided to put my sneaking skills to the test and play through the original Metal Gear Solid, and then tried some Metal Gear Solid 2… I’m going to wait for Metal Gear Solid Delta instead of playing through Metal Gear Solid 3. and we’re still in December, so of course, there is no data there.
It wouldn’t be a wrap-up list without stopping everything to promote PlayStation Plus subscriptions. At the moment mine is canceled since I rarely play online and the games list isn’t anything I really care about… Plus I’m saving for a long road trip to AEW Grand Slam Australia in 2025, so anything I can do to save a dollar is going to be done.
Want to know how many hours you spent on which console, complete with sessions and games played? Then this is the screen you want to see. If you played on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, then you will get two consoles listed here, but since I played on my PlayStation 5 exclusively, that is the only console shown here.
Like Trophies? Then this is your screen. Out of my lifetime total of 2585 trophies, I got 35 this year over Silver and Bronze… I know, I’m not a Platinum chaser like so many other people out there. This would stem from me being from the generation that did not need trophies or achievements to get “worth” out of my games, it was playing and finishing the game that was the reason I played and still play games.
This was meant to be a deeper look at when and what trophies I got in 2024, but for some reason PlayStation couldn’t get the data needed to create the page. Maybe you will have better luck when you try this.
I’m not a social person, so seeing only one new friend being the only stat that comes up in this section does not surprise me. Again, you might be different or so introverted that you might have nothing to see here. Either way, you play your games your way and no one can tell you differently.
The final screen will give you access to a special image you can share online via social media to let others know how much time you spent playing PlayStation games this year. As a reward for giving PlayStation your data, you are given a nice PlayStation Wrap-Up avatar that you can redeem via a code on your console or on the PlayStation website via the link.
If you want to do your own PlayStation Wrap-Up, then you can click this link and see what comes up for you. when you are done, you can share that result with us at The Outerhaven on X or BlueSky (We’ll reply more on BlueSky), or not. Either way, enjoy your 2024 Wrap-Up and enjoy gaming into 2025.
