One of the beautiful things about Nintendo, whether you want to admit it or not, is that it’s never afraid to be weird when it wants to be. Case in point: Do you remember when the Nintendo Alarmo was announced in October? Yeah, The Big N decided that it wanted to make an alarm clock that could wake you up with music from its classic games, sense where you are, monitor your sleep and so on and so forth. The clock would only be available through Nintendo Switch Online accounts, and it was always going to be interesting to see how it did.
According to VGC, in Japan at least, it’s doing almost too well! The Nintendo Alarmo was dispersed there through a lottery at stores, and then people were told they could buy it in stores in 2025 after the NSO “trial” was over. Turns out, that’s getting delayed, as fans wanted them so much that there are now shortages of them! Who knew that many people in Japan wanted gaming alarm clocks?
Hence, Nintendo proves once again that it knows its fanbase better than anyone.
