Universal Music has unveiled the final artwork for the limited edition Blu-ray home release for Girls Band Cry! The 13-episode series is being released across seven DVDs or Blu-rays. Note that this is for the Japanese release as releasing discs with only a couple of episodes is common practice there.
Volume 1 is priced at ¥3,500 ($23.26) and ¥7,000 each ($46.52) for Volumes 2-6 on DVD, while Blu-ray had Volume 1 priced at ¥4,500 ($29.91) and ¥8,000 ($53.17) for the remaining volumes. This is because Vol. 1 only contains 1 episode while 2-6 contain 2 episodes each.
Volume 1 of the release will contain a booklet, song CD, and Audio commentary while Volumes 2-6 will only contain a booklet and a song CD.
Girls Band Cry is described as follows:
The main character drops out of high school in her second year, and aims at entering a university while working alone in Tokyo. A girl is betrayed by her friends and doesn’t know what to do. Another girl is abandoned by her parents, and tries to survive in the city by doing part-time jobs. This world lets us down all the time. Nothing goes as planned. But we want something that we can continue to like. We believe there’s a place where we belong. That’s why we sing.
