They say that all things must come to an end, and sadly, that is true for the beloved hit sequel series Cobra Kai. It started out on YouTube Red before going to Netflix and further exploding in popularity. The series has an incredible quality to it (as I’ve noted in my reviews), and fans are obviously eager to see more, even beyond the final five episodes that will drop on Netflix in February. The question is, “What will the team do next?” For co-showrunner Jon Hurwitz he was asked that by a fan on Twitter, and he noted that he was indeed working on potential spinoffs with known characters from the series:
I hope so. Actively working on it. #CobraKai https://t.co/alfm9ux8zm

The next obvious question is, “What characters?” That is the question, now, isn’t it? There is potential for certain stories to be told if handled in the right way. Or, we could see certain characters go off on new paths, leading to new “Karate Kids” being born. That’s the path Cobra Kai took initially, so it would make sense to continue the path with the spinoffs.
A key thing to note is that Daniel LaRusso already has a story set for him, as Karate Kid Legends is coming out just a few months after the series finale.
