Are you excited for the Nintendo Switch 2? I am! In fact, plenty of people are, and that’s why the wait for it has been so excruciating. Now, yes, The Big N has been doing right by gamers by ensuring that the Switch has plenty of titles to satisfy them until the next console arrives, but we’re all hoping that we get some kind of teaser announcement soon. However, the lack of info on it might not just be because of software but because of hardware.
A new report going around states that Nintendo is doing all it can to have millions of units of the Nintendo Switch 2 ready at launch so that they don’t have shortages.
According to a new rumor, Nintendo is potentially preparing up to 7 million Switch 2 units to avoid any shortages at launch.
This is 2.5x the amount of Switch's that were available at launch. https://t.co/dl9gpUcJ0o pic.twitter.com/uejhsyhZgT

That makes sense in various ways, and could explain the delay from a 2024 launch to a 2025 one. When the OG Switch came out, they only had about 2 million units ready, as they didn’t want to “do too much” and then have another Wii U debacle. This time around, gamers are excited for the next system, and they want it NOW, so, it makes sense for Nintendo to stock up so they can hit the ground running and then some.
It won’t matter how many units it has, though, if we don’t get a release date soon!!!
