With all the sad news that is going around the world recently, I figured you all could use something positive to think about today. So, how about we celebrate the life of a true gaming giant? You know, someone like Shigeru Miyamoto? That’s right! Today is Mr. Miyamoto’s birthday, and he’s somehow 72 years old! Yeah, he’s been around a while, and the gaming space wouldn’t be the same without him. We all know that Nintendo wouldn’t be the same without him, and he’s still helping to develop the company he loves to this day!
As we noted in the most recent Nintendo Entertainment Podcast episode, Shigeru Miyamoto remains an incredibly humble figure. He even noted during the latest financial briefing that he doesn’t like to be called a genius. He just sees himself as a guy who does work and does it well. Of course, that’s easy for him to say, as he’s developed some of the greatest and most successful video game franchises ever! Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, the Pikmin, all were from him!
Happy 72nd Birthday to Shigeru Miyamoto!
2025 will mark his 48th year at Nintendo.
While he isn't as involved in the video game side as he used to be, his participation in Nintendo's movie/theme park initiatives means he's still very important! pic.twitter.com/859jsKsbEF

Plus, in recent times, he helped develop Super Nintendo World, the Nintendo Museum and is overseeing the movie projects that The Big N is doing. So, while he’s not making video games like he used to, he’s still influencing the gaming world in many ways.
We hope you have a wonderful birthday, Mr. Miyamoto!
