Yooka-Replaylee Announced By Playtonic

And it's coming to "Nintendo" platforms...?

Yooka-Replaylee

A classic thing that happens in the gaming industry is key members of a certain development team leaving the situation they’re in to make something different. Or, something they actually want to make. When certain members of the Banjo-Kazooie team left Rare to make Playtonic, they decided to create a game called Yooka-Laylee to be a spiritual successor to what came before. Fast forward to now, and they’ve announced an improved and enhanced version of the game called Yooka-Replaylee, and you can wishlist it now.

As noted by the game’s pages,  Yooka-Replaylee isn’t just a simple remastering of the 2017 title. Instead, it’s one that features new elements to the game, reworked puzzles, and quality-of-life features that many have been asking for since the game’s release years back.

One of the more curious elements of the tweet above is the note that the game will be on “Nintendo” systems. That seems to imply that the game will be on Switch 2 when it releases next year. To that end, Playtonic’s enhanced title doesn’t have a release date just yet, but that will likely change soon enough.
