With Metaphor: ReFantazio’s release being a few weeks away, Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has reported that the game is a bit longer than we all expected. While most traditional RPGs and JRPGs take around 40-60 hours to complete, Metaphor: ReFantazio will add a few extra hours for those who aren’t completionists.
Famitsu has reported that Metaphor: ReFantazio clocks in around 80 hours to finish the main story. This is notably longer than most RPGs, including Final Fantasy XVI, Persona 5 Royal, and Octopath Traveler II. But here’s the kicker—if you’re a completionist, prepare for an additional 20 hours, totaling 100 hours with side activities and quests.
Talk about getting your money’s worth in a game! Still, from what we’ve played at Summer Game Fest and most recently with the Metaphor: ReFantazio demo, I don’t think many will be complaining about the game’s length. Even if they do, I certainly won’t, especially since this would be the period time waster.
Speaking of which, if you haven’t played the demo, then give our preview of the demo, curiously of someone who is very much looking forward to getting his hands on the full game of Metaphor: ReFantazio.
Metaphor: ReFantazio will be released on October 11th, 2024, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
