When Dragon Ball Sparking Zero was first announced, fans of the anime/manga franchise and the long-running gaming line were pumped, especially when they saw that this would be a true follow-up to the beloved Budokai Tenkaichi series. As time went on, Bandai Namco highlighted how the game would touch upon all the different parts of Dragon Ball lore, including Z, Super, the non-canon movies, GT, and even the recently released Daima series. The questions everyone had were, “Would the game be good at launch?” and it was (as proven in our review!), alongside, “How well would the game sell?”
The answer to that second question is, “Incredibly well!” According to official sources, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero sold over 3 million copies on its official launch day. That’s incredible! Super, even.

When it comes right down to it, this proves that the effort to make it one of the grandest games in the line worked out. Sure, some people are struggling with certain boss fights (I’m looking at you, Great Ape Vegeta!) but the vast majority are enjoying the fun and freedom within the title.
Plus, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero will be getting plenty of DLC, and that means that the game’s sales will continue to rise.
