At the recent Xbox Partner Preview, Remedy Entertainment, and Epic Games showed us a new trailer and confirmed the release date of The Lake House, an upcoming expansion for Alan Wake 2. I must say, it looks fantastic from what we’ve seen so far.
In The Lake House, players will uncover the secrets of a mysterious Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) facility on the shores of Cauldron Lake, where a catastrophic event has torn the veil between reality and the Dark Place. As FBC Agent Kiran Estevez (played by Janina Gavankar), you’ll explore the twisted depths of the Lake House, a place where paranatural research has gone horribly wrong.
Adding to the tension, The Lake House expansion features a new song from Poe, “6 Deep Breaths,” and an end-of-chapter track by composer Petri Alanko, featuring Amelia Jones, titled “End of an Era.”
Alongside The Lake House expansion, a free Anniversary Update will also launch on the same day and will be available for all owners of Alan Wake 2. The update includes an Assist Mode, offering features like immortality and unlimited resources to make the experience more accessible to players of all skill levels. It also features a host of requested accessibility options, such as sprint toggling, motion aiming for PlayStation 5, and more.
The Lake House is included in the Alan Wake 2 Expansion Pass, which also features the previously released Night Springs expansion. The Expansion Pass is included in the Deluxe and Collector’s Editions and is available as a digital Deluxe Upgrade for Standard Edition players.
The Lake House will be available on October 22, 2024. Prepare to face the darkness once again and discover what awaits within the shadows of Cauldron Lake.
