With nearly a week before it’s official, Capcom has released Terry Bogard’s Character Guide for Street Fighter VI. The Southtown Hungry Wolf is coming to Metro City, bringing homage moves from his Fatal Fury and King of Fighters past. Capcom has put in the effort to make Terry a trickier opponent for the World Warriors this time around.
For instance, Power Wave now has different effects. If it lands as a counter hit, it causes a knockdown. Interestingly, Terry now has both Power Wave and Round Wave specials—Round Wave being a shortened version of the original—and they are treated as two separate moves. Round Wave allows Terry to gain a quicker advantage if the opponent blocks it.
Terry’s other staple moves are also present. Crack Shoot’s varying arcs can avoid projectiles or serve as a solid anti-air. The Passing Sway is explained as a target combo, and even if Terry does nothing while shifting positions, it acts as a feint to bait out the opponent for an opening.
Terry’s Super Arts are explained in detail. His Level 2, Power Geyser, can produce up to three eruptions. The first is standard, while the second requires two punch inputs after the first hit. Triple Geyser uses 1 Super meter and 3 Drive Meter stocks to unleash. Rising Fang is his all-out Level 3, which was showcased at the end.
Terry comes to Street Fighter VI next week on September 24th, as part of the Season 2 Pass, following M. Bison. Mai Shiranui and Elena will be arriving next year.
