Coincidentally, this will be sharing the same release date as Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns and Street Fighter VI’s Terry Bogard update. So basically, Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, and Fatal Fury( through Street Fighter) are all doing things all on this special day. The placeholder trailer page was announced today.

It was assumed that Heihachi was going to be skipping Tekken 8 because he apparently “disappeared” or was considered “dead” after the Tekken 7 story. Bandai Namco had also stated that he was not coming in several press releases, but Evo 2024 has given a way for Bandai Namco to retcon this in an announcement.
This isn’t the first time that Heihachi was assumed dead. Tekken 5 had also attempted to kill off the first boss of the King of the Iron Fist Tournament, but of course, this also did not stick story-wise. Heihachi has been in the Tekken roster since the first game’s debut. While his absence is felt in Tekken 8, Kuma has picked up the slack with some of his former master’s moveset.
Coincidentally, September 21st will be 30 years since the first Tekken game was released. This is possibly why Bandai Namco wanted to present Heihachi’s Tekken 8 gameplay to the world on this date.
A special discussion will happen right after with the production team with a breakdown of gameplay expected. Heihachi’s actual release date, for the DLC, has not been confirmed as of yet. This is probably going to be seen in Tuesday’s presentation.
