The British game development studio, Ballistic Moon, is facing a tough situation. Just weeks before the release of their anticipated project, a remake of the horror game Until Dawn for PlayStation 5 and PC, the studio has been hit with layoffs.
These layoffs have not been officially announced by the company, but several former employees have confirmed the news on LinkedIn.
Cassy Cornish, a former junior game designer at Ballistic Moon, shared her experience on LinkedIn. She stated, “Like many others in this wonderful but turbulent industry, I am sadly being made redundant from my role.” Similarly, Harry Williams, who worked as a technical designer, expressed his disappointment, saying, “After two exciting years working on the wonderful Until Dawn 2024 at Ballistic Moon, I am unfortunately being made redundant.”
The remake of Until Dawn is set to release on October 4th, and it remains to be seen how these layoffs will affect the game’s launch and the future of Ballistic Moon.
