Toei Animation and Fathom Events have come together to premiere the dubbed versions of the first three episodes of Dragon Ball Daima, the newest Dragon Ball series to come from the mind of the late Akira Toriyama, in theaters this November 2024. If you’re a fan of Dragon Ball and you want to see what this new series is about and get a chance to watch this new show on the big screen, this is your chance.
Tickets for Dragon Ball Daima will go on sale starting on October 11, 2024, and you can head on over to the Fathom Events website to find out more information about this.
We are thrilled to bring the world dub premiere ‘Dragon Ball DAIMA’ to U.S. theaters this November,” said Masayuki Endo, President and CEO of Toei Animation Inc. “This special theatrical event offers U.S. fans an exclusive opportunity to not only be among the first to watch the never-before-seen English dub of ‘Dragon Ball DAIMA’ but also to experience the start of this exciting new story by creator Akira Toriyama on the big screen. Diehard Dragon Ballers will not want to miss it!
Fathom Events is excited to be partnering once again with Toei Animation to bring the latest chapter in the incredible Dragon Ball franchise to the big screen,” said Ray Nutt, CEO of Fathom Events. “This new series is a masterpiece from Akira Toriyama and Dragon Ball fans will love seeing it on the big screen as it takes everyone into this exciting new world.
While I was expecting another super serious Dragon Ball series to come after Super Dragon Ball and Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Dragon Ball Diama is an interesting twist. In Dragon Ball Diama, Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo (my favorite) and the rest of the gang have been reverted into smaller versions of themselves, and to fix this, they’ll head off into a brave new world.
For those wondering when Dragon Ball Diama will take place and it’s place in the Dragon Ball timeline, it’s hinted that this will take after the Dragon Ball Z Buu Saga and before the events of Dragon Ball Super. This makes sense since we haven’t seen any super hyped-up power forms, nor Whiz and Beerus, not to mention a bunch of other information that’s been hinted at during the trailers we’ve seen so far. Yep, this is definitely canon.
Akira Toriyama had been working on this new Dragon Ball series for the past five years before his passing and he was excited about this series, as it allowed him to craft a story that was not only about new adventures and allowed him to do something completely new, not connected to the other Dragon Ball shows.
I can’t wait to get my tickets and watch Dragon Ball Daima on the big screen with my fellow Dragon Ball fans.
