For 7-time Evo Champion Justin Wong, Marvel vs Capcom 2 has some sentimental value. And with Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics bringing back the critically acclaimed collaboration title, with online play, it’s even getting Wong out of retirement. Known online as Wazzler, the champ has accidentally exploited the matchmaking errors in the new release. As a result of this, some players, have stated they demanded refunds and given negative comments on the Steam page for the game after facing the champ.
Ran into someone online named Wazzler. The Iron Man combo he did to me gave me enough time to go get dinner started for the family. 10/10
I love this collection. Also, beware of Wazzler on MVC2. It’s actually Justin Wong the 3 time evo champion of this game. You will not make it against him, unless you’re someone like Maximilian Dood.
Speak of the devil: FGC Content Creator, Maxilian has run into Justin Wong online in Marvel vs Capcom 2 and has come out unrefunded(we think). Max produced a video discussing the Wazzler’s reign of terror. Wong seemed to randomize his team picks here as he and Max duke it out in friendly sets.
Justin Wong’s win count for just Marvel vs Capcom 2 makes up most of his Evo runs. Thanks to the re-release, Justin has decided to grind on all ports of the game so far starting with Steam, PS4, and recently, Nintendo Switch. To face Justin Wong might be a fool’s errand. Luckily, Fighting Collection will at least tell you who your opponent is before accepting the match-up.
People been saying I have been causing people to refund the game
I thought ppl enjoyed playing with me until pic.twitter.com/DQUPiBfJDY

Marvel vs Capcom 2 has a high learning curve for the mechanics system on its own. Thanks to those infinite loop combos and exploits, blowing up novice players could be done. Especially by those who have been labbing MvC2 for the 2 decades, it’s been available – licensing takedowns withstanding. As blazing fast as it can be, Marvel vs Capcom 2’s skill curve can be intimidating.
Much Ado About Matchmaking
After being able to put it through our own paces post-launch, Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection does have some glaring issues with matchmaking. For instance, there are no restrictions as to who you will end up facing. In other titles, the assumption would be at least a few ranks up. Sometimes, Fighting Collection will match lower ranks with higher-tier players. Rookies might run into Super Platinums and vice versa.
As for the match queues being slow, there have been complaints surrounding the wait times being longer than expected. The most time, on the PS4 version, that we’ve waited was probably 1-2 mins on Ranked with the options being open to all regions. Better to use In-Game waiting if that’s the case, which allows one to play any game while they wait.
Capcom has addressed the issues in a statement on Street Fighter VI’s Twitter that they are looking into the issues.
『MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics』
We are currently confirming an issue where matching is difficult in some areas.
We are investigating the cause and working to resolve the issue. We apologize for the inconvenience.— ストリートファイター / STREET FIGHTER (@StreetFighterJA) September 14, 2024
Regardless of this turn of events, Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection has been positive review-wise – including our own.
