If you’ve been following Death Battle for a long time, you know that 2024 hasn’t been the easiest year for it. Their parent company, Rooster Teeth, was shut down, and DB’s future was uncertain. However, in July, they went to Kickstarter, and over 7800 fans (including yours truly) pledged nearly $750K to bring it back! Thanks to that, the team was able to get right back to work on episodes that were in the works but had to be paused. Today, we got confirmation about what the first matchup in the “new season” would be.
As noted online (and revealed on the Death Battle Cast), the first matchup will be Omni-Man vs. Bardock!
Omni-Man VS Bardock has been confirmed as the premiere episode of DEATH BATTLE ’24!

For those confused, the “premiere screening” was a special reward from the Kickstarter where fans can see the premiere in a theater and meet with the DB crew. YouTube watchers will get to see it a few days later.
I’m truly excited about this, and it’ll be a fun matchup as it’s one of “superpowered planet-conquering dads” and it’s one that fans have been asking for. So, in the words of the fanbase…WE ARE SO BACK!!!
