During the Capcom NEXT digital showcase, Capcom officially revealed that the company is working on a new Resident Evil title. I’m not referring to another remake, but a brand-new game in the series. Granted, this news isn’t exactly new, as it’s been rumored that a new game was being worked on. However, we didn’t know who was heading up the project. That is, until now.
Capcom has revealed that Koshi Nakanishi would serve as the new game’s director. Koshi also served as the director for Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil 7. Since then, he’s been out of the spotlight and people have wondered what he’s been up to.
As for what this new Resident Evil game is, that’s anyone’s guess. Sadly, Koshi wasn’t able to reveal anything outside of the game being worked on. Still, If you listen to the rumors, this could be anything from Resident Evil Revelations 3, to Resident Evil 9. Whatever it ends up being, you can be sure that when Capcom is ready to break the news, they’ll be shouting it from every possible direction.
Though, with Koshi at the helm, does this mean that this next Resident Evil game will be in the first-person perspective, or will it return to the traditional third-person perspective?
