Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection’s Xbox Absence Explained

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics has done a number for the fighting game scene this week. The reactions are priceless for the upcoming mega collection from the Nintendo Direct announcement.

Sadly, with the news comes disappointment. While all 7 games from the 2D side of the series will come to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, with one ecosystem being left out: Xbox’s ecosystem is not part of the release.

With the speed of Phoenix Wright, Twitter Jawmuncher presented evidence supporting this decision from Capcom. they deduced that the reason why Marvel Vs Capcom Fighting Collection could be skipping for technicals. The MT framework may be the culprit. 4 of 5 releases that skipped Xbox were categorized with this in mind.

Starting to believe the "MT Framework for Xbox One is dead" theory. It explains all the skips for that platform.

Great Ace Attorney – MT
Monster Hunter Stories – MT
Monster Hunter Stores 2 – MT
Mega Man Battle Network – Unknown
Marvel vs. Capcom Collection – Likely MT https://t.co/16fDuJFI5a

According to Windows Central, the process to bring MT Framework based legacy games can be an expensive task. This is due to Capcom not having the resources to do so for Xbox’s modern ERA system. Compared to other consoles such as PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC, this would be a huge task. Capcom has yet to comment directly to this. Some fans didn’t take this news lightly.

One More Thing

Next to this, another blow to the collection is the removal of comedian Noritake Kinashi’s Norimaro character in Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter. Sources confirmed that Norimaro – the little old school boy that could, may be removed from the collection. Narimaro was not included in any other releases outside of Japan. There is speculation that this move might have been a lack of licenses one.  Ultra Variety Private Memories will be missed. Who else will Dan team up with as a joke character?

Norimaro is a character created by Capcom in conjunction with japanese comedian Noritake Kinashi for the game Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter.

Marvel Vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics preorders started a few days ago on Best Buy and Amazon. Knowing Capcom’s history with the series, it’s highly recommended to secure this one physically. Even Wario64 is telling us this. The placeholder date is EOY, but it is still coming this year.

i have a feeling it's a good idea to secure a physical for this over digital https://t.co/zuDoz4oJJt
