One of the most anticipated movies of the summer is Marvel’s upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine. The film will see Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool team up with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in a multiversal action comedy that will involve major nods to previous X-Men movies and more. In a new teaser for the film, fans get a quick glimpse at a variant of Deadpool that will appear, Lady Deadpool. But that’s not all there is to see within the newest teaser trailer.
In a video shared by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on their official Twitter pages, the new teaser for Deadpool and Wolverine shows off new footage from the movie. The teaser is about one minute, released for the social media trend Best Friends Day, and has a combination of previously seen footage from the official trailer, as well as new shots being revealed for the first time. One of the quick cuts in the teaser includes the feet of Lady Deadpool walking out of what appears to be a portal. Whether this is related to anything with Doctor Strange or Wong’s magic from the MCU is anyone’s guess. Nothing in the teaser appears to give any answers but instead opens up more questions.
While we haven’t gotten a full look at what Lady Deadpool is in the film, some rumors have suggested that this Deadpool variant will be played by Ryan Reynolds’ own wife, Blake Lively. But there’s been no confirmation from Marvel or Ryan about that. The movie will also feature other Deadpool variants, like Dogpool, played by a real-life pugese named Peggy. As far as any other variants of characters we’ve known about in any of the previous films will appear is a mystery for now.
Other appearances by various Marvel characters have been rumored for some time, with a variety of X-Men characters being mentioned. Previous trailers have given quick looks at characters from X-Men First Class, as well as other films that have garnered a lot of excitement.
The new teaser also gives extra glimpses of various scenes that were revealed in the official trailer. There are different angles of the TVA agents, a group of mercenaries with weapons pointing down at someone, and even a quick shot of Deadpool and Wolverine tied up together. While there’s not much to go on, a lot of the movie’s surprises are being kept tight under wraps, including any big cameos. But Marvel fans won’t have to wait a long time to find out what craziness will happen for the MCU due to Deadpool and Wolverine’s antics. If the recently revealed popcorn bucket for the movie is any indication, everybody is in for a wild ride.
Deadpool and Wolverine is set to release in theaters on July 26th. The film is directed by Shawn Levy and stars both Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds in the titular roles. Hilarity will most definitely ensue.
