KADOKAWA, the major company that owns Yen Press, Ize Press, Anime News Network, Bookwalker, J-Novel Club, and many others, has announced that they have created a new label called Masterpiece Comics to adapt classic literature.
What is interesting is that the works being adapted are not exclusive to just Japan but also other countries. In addition, the manga adaptations of these works will be created by up-and-coming manga artists, giving people more chances to break into the manga industry.
The first title announced will be an adaptation of Paul Gallico’s The Silent Miaow. It is slated to launch on July 20!
Other titles announced are as follows:
- Nunio Yanagita’s Tono Monogatari – September
