Sony‘s recent State of Play event showcased two highly anticipated games: Astro Bot and Concord. The response to these trailers couldn’t have been more different. As reported by VGC, Astro Bot’s trailer received overwhelming praise, netting 99% likes on YouTube. In contrast, Concord’s gameplay trailer managed only 18% likes.
Astro Bot, based on the popular Astro’s Playroom tech demo, is a new 3D platformer for PS5. The game promises over 80 levels spread across six galaxies, and it takes full advantage of the DualSense controller. Fans have praised the trailer for its charming presentation and engaging gameplay.
Concord, a sci-fi multiplayer FPS, had a less favorable reception. Despite the Guardians of the Galaxy-inspired design and theme, many viewers were disappointed. The cinematic trailer initially suggested a single-player adventure, but the gameplay trailer revealed it as a 5v5 team shooter, similar to Overwatch and Valorant. This revelation did not sit well with many fans, leading to a significant number of dislikes.
Astro Bot’s positive reception highlights the game’s appeal and the excitement for its full release. Conversely, Concord’s negative feedback suggests that the developers may need to address fan concerns to improve its reception.
