The battle of the popcorn buckets has officially begun. At least according to the Deadpool actor himself, Ryan Reynolds, who revealed the official popcorn bucket for the upcoming Deadpool And Wolverine. And just like the popcorn bucket states on the side, it was definitely designed by Deadpool. Unsurprisingly, it will have everyone talking about it online.
In addition to Ryan Reynolds sharing the reveal on Twitter, actor Hugh Jackman also shared the first look on his social media as well. The Deadpool and Wolverine popcorn bucket is a tin of Wolverine’s face, fully masked but with his mouth open. You can probably already tell where the joke is leaning towards. It fits right in with the level of humor that Marvel and Deadpool fans expect for the upcoming movie, which is going full speed into the hard R-rating.
As you would also might expect, the 45-second video reveal has a few shots of the popcorn tin in funny and suggestive looks. Hugh Jackman mentioned on his Twitter post “not to butter him up,” but of course, Deadpool probably wouldn’t listen at all. Popcorn is shown filling the Wolverine’s mouth, followed by drizzling butter to finish things off. It’s about as Deadpool-like as you can imagine.
Speculation about what the Deadpool and Wolverine popcorn tin might look like has been around for a while. A lot of the chatter came after the reveal of the DUNE 2 popcorn tin, which many felt was suggestive in multiple ways. Fans online began to share jokes and make fun of the popcorn tin’s overall design, which also discussed what exactly we might see for the next Deadpool movie. It’s safe to say that Ryan Reynolds did not disappoint.
As for details about the release date, how much the popcorn tin would cost, or which movie theater chains would have it, nothing concrete was given in the video. More than likely, the Deadpool and Wolverine popcorn tin will be available around the movie’s release, possibly the day before. Tickets for Deadpool and Wolverine are on sale now, with an upcoming release on July 26th. Just remember, as the video says, please enjoy your popcorn responsibly.
