Lidia Sobieska is returning for Tekken 8, and following Combo Breaker 2024, new gameplay of the Polish Tekken character was revealed. The threat of eliminating whole countries by Kazuya Mishima, for the new King of The Iron Fist Tournament, has clearly not been taken lightly, even by the prime minister of Poland. This is Lidia’s second Tekken appearance, with her first being Tekken 7 and Tekken 7 Fated Retribution as a DLC roster add.
Lidia was both denied and confirmed at two Tekken major tournaments. This time, the Poland Karateka trailer was shown to the audience of the Tekken World Tour event – Combo Breaker 2024 – this weekend. According to her story, Lidia is teaming up with the Manji clan, Yoshimitsu’s clan, to be exact, to take Mishima Zaibatsu’s head.
She believes that the people need a symbol of power that embodies justice, but rallying a force capable of opposing the Mishima Zaibatsu and G Corp is no easy task.
To help her gather intelligence on her opposition inconspicuously, she forms alliances with secret underground organizations such as the Manji Clan, led by Yoshimitsu.
Lidia isn’t fond of newcomer Reina and wastes no time disapproving of Reina’s underhanded tactics. The prime minister also finds a rival in the protagonist, Jin Kazama.
Lidia’s New Power From The People
Lidia’s counter moves are dangerous to high and mids. Her stances such as Cat Foot 1 and 2 are also returning. Lidia’s all about transitioning into different stances during strings. A new stance has been shown from the look of it. Her Heaven And Earth stance also gives her an armored launcher in heat mode. Lidia even gets an armor breaker move. Some of her original moves have improved in terms of bounceback and distance spacing. All these changes make sweets a priority meeting for politics. The Rage Art delivers a kick to start the 3 major hits with the spirit of the hawk.
According to pro player Book, nearing Tekken 7’s end, Lidia was considered a top-tier character.
Lidia is the 2nd DLC character for the current battle pass. Two additional challengers are left following Eddy Gordo’s release this Spring, 2024, and Lidia’s upcoming release.
Tekken 8 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
