Sony is reportedly working on a new PC adapter for its PlayStation VR2 (PSVR 2) headset, aiming to make the device compatible with PCs. This move could broaden the appeal of the PSVR 2 by allowing users to enjoy PC-based virtual reality experiences.
A certification from the Korean Radio Research Agency hints at the development of this new adapter. The certification, spotted by VR influencer Brad Lynch, describes a product named “PlayStation VR2 PC adapter.” This strongly suggests an accessory to enable the PSVR 2 to work with PCs, expanding its use beyond the PlayStation 5.

Sony had already hinted at plans to support PC compatibility for the PSVR 2 earlier this year. The PC adapter will likely allow the headset to connect to PCs, enabling compatibility with popular platforms like Steam, similar to other VR headsets.
This development comes amid a challenging year for PSVR 2, which, despite a strong launch, has struggled to maintain momentum due to a limited game library. The ability to connect to a PC could provide PSVR 2 owners access to a broader range of VR games, enhancing the device’s value.
Sony has not officially announced the adapter, but the certification suggests an announcement might be imminent. This move aligns with Sony’s goal to offer more game variety by enabling PSVR 2 owners to access additional PC games.
